Dr. Hechko grew up in Columbia Station, Ohio and went on to the University of Findlay to complete his undergraduate degree in Pre-Veterinary Medicine. He is a proud graduate of The Ohio State University College of Veterinary Medicine and an avid Buckeye fan. Dr. Hechko has 3 children, Alexander, Benjamin and Catherine. His wife, Dr. Jen, is a pediatric dentist. In addition, Dr. Hechko is honored to serve on the Board of Directors for the American Animal Hospital Association (AAHA) effective April 1, 2016.
Dr. Emily Roach-Medical Director
Dr. Roach grew up in Lakewood, Ohio. She is a proud graduate of Mercyhurst College. She attended The Ohio State University College of Veterinary Medicine before moving back to Cleveland. Dr. Roach has completed advanced training in dentistry and was the past president of the Cleveland Academy of Veterinary Medicine and is married to her husband, Gabe..
Dr. Annie Garrett
Dr. Adrianne “Annie” Garrett was first introduced to North Royalton Animal Hospital when she was a high school student. Growing up in Hinckley with a passion for veterinary medicine, Dr. Garrett accepted a kennel assistant position when Dr. Hechko first opened NRAH. Dr. Garrett moved on from NRAH to attend Otterbein University, where she earned her Bachelor of Science degree. In 2017, she earned her doctorate at The Ohio State University College of Veterinary Medicine. While at Ohio State, Dr. Garrett worked as an assistant at the OSU Veterinary Hospital of Dublin where she cared for sick and healthy pets. Since graduation Dr. Garrett has spent her time as a small animal veterinarian providing preventative care, surgery and emergency medicine. She also advanced her surgical skills by working at a high volume spay and neuter clinic. Her veterinary interests are varied and include preventative care, surgery, dentistry, general and emergency medicine. Dr. Garrett is excited to be returning to NRAH as a veterinarian. In her free time, she enjoys riding horses, boating, fishing, baking, watching the Buckeyes play, and going hiking with her English Springer Spaniels, Mayzie and Remington.
Dr. Katie Liutkus
Dr. Katie Liutkus was born and raised in North Royalton and is a proud graduate of the University of Dayton. She graduated from the University of Wisconsin - Madison School of Veterinary Medicine. She spent a year in Northern Virginia at a mixed animal mobile practice before returning home to Cleveland.
She enjoys everything about veterinary medicine but has specific interests in geriatric care and feline medicine. She shares her home with her two dogs, Izzy and Winnie, and her rabbit, Pikachu.
Dr. Michael Henson
Dr. Michael Henson grew up in Canfield, Ohio and attended The Ohio State University for his undergraduate degree, majoring in Animal Sciences. He completed his veterinary training at the University of Pennsylvania and is excited to be back in Northeast Ohio. He is joined by his rescue dog Roxy.
His areas of interest include internal medicine, surgery and cardiology. He is also a big supporter of low - stress veterinary visits. He loves the Buckeyes and all Cleveland sports teams. In his spare time Dr. Henson likes spending time with family and friends and visiting National Parks.
Dr. Ashley McClellen
Dr. McClellan grew up outside of Toledo with a multitude of different pets that cemented her passion for animals and interest in veterinary medicine. Ashley attended undergrad at The University of Findlay where she obtained a Bachelor of Science in pre-veterinary studies/biology, a minor in chemistry, and a Master’s of Arts in Education. Dr/ McClellen went to vet school at The Ohio State University. After vet school, Ashley pursued advanced training in veterinary surgery. The desire to be closer to family brought Ashley back to Ohio. She has a soft spot for bully breeds and all fuzzy, friendly pets. Currently, she and her husband share a home with two dogs. Roxy, an old terrier mix has been with her since before veterinary school and Roscoe who was a rescue dog adopted from a reservation in Arizona. They enjoy cheering on the Buckeyes, learning to ski, and traveling.
